About Katya Irwin

Founder and President of Word Count Consulting

After cutting her teeth as a news reporter in Vancouver, Katya climbed the ranks in journalism across multiple newsrooms and media outlets based in Canada, the U.K. and Australia.

She has covered court trials of high-profile cases and jumped out of airplanes for the sake of “research.” She has conducted TV interviews,
co-written three books and edited numerous magazine titles (aka Katya Holloway). She was also co-founder and director for 10 years of an award-winning dog daycare in Metro Vancouver.

After leaving The Vancouver Sun and The Province, Katya changed course to a career in communication. She brings her passion for travel, writing and business to every campaign, specializing in tourism, municipal government, economic development and businesses both big and small.

Katya knows media. She never misses a deadline and feeds off the rush of good story. Let’s get started on her next adventure.
